Case Study : Revitalizing a Brand
The Atlanta College of Art is the city’s oldest arts institution, conferring applied and fine arts degrees to students for nearly a century. After several identities had come and gone over the years, the president requested a new brand identity that positioned them in a contemporary light. Molecule conducted surveys, examined industry trends, and analyzed competitors for insight. As a result, we designed an icon that suggested a picture frame, window, and the golden mean. Also, the asymmetry of the logo conveyed a contemporary feel, while placing emphasis on the word “art”. The new brand was launched in time for their 100th year anniversary. In addition to the logo, Molecule also designed the following applications for this identity: environmental signage, stationery, premium items, and more.
