"The Shape of Things: Two Decades of Logo Designs" lecture at the Savannah College of Art and Design
Molecule principal Ted Fabella was recently a guest lecturer at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, speaking on his approaches and influences on logo design. The presentation featured work by Robert Motherwell, Bill Traylor, Alex Toth, Christo, and samples of Japanese architecture and Shaker design. The majority of the presentation was a retrospective of 45 logos from 1986-2007, designed by Fabella. They represented a wide range of clients from start-ups to major corporations, including The Athlete's Foot, IBM, Coca-Cola, and Cox Communications. "I've spoken at other colleges and universities before," states Fabella, "but my first experience with SCAD was a memorable and positive one. The students were inquisitive, engaged, and welcoming." The lecture was coordinated by SCAD professor Barry Roseman and sponsored by the SCAD student chapter of the AIGA.
