The City of Powder Springs

Case Study : Creating a Brand

Located just outside Atlanta, the city of Powder Springs is a peaceful suburb undergoing new and positive changes. The town plans new landscaping, sidewalks, and street lamps to enhance the community and attract families and businesses to their area. The city council contacted Molecule to create an identity that reflects its small town appeal and values. Our research discovered a local hand pump, erected decades ago, where a natural spring emerged. Legend states that it marked the spot where Powder Springs was founded in 1838. A historically relevant symbol, we designed a logo emphasizing the pump and added a butterfly to symbolize tranquility. Their identity now effectively differentiates Powder Springs from surrounding suburban communities. In addition to the logo, Molecule also designed the following applications for this identity: environmental signage, stationery, and more.

This case study employed the following services: Brand Analysis, Brand Strategy, Brand Identity, Brand Standardization, Brand Implementation.
